Many people take their parents for granted, assuming that they will always be there to love us and care for us, however someone can go away in the blink of an eye and everything will change. This person wants to get closer to their parents therefore they need to take advantage of the fact that they have the opportunity to get to know their parents. This rhetorical situation personally affects me because I have had many ups and downs with my parents however they are and will always be the most important and influential people in my life. I feel bad for people that are not close to their parents because there is not love like the love a parent has for his or her child; this love is unconditional and warm, it makes me feel better no matter how bad things may seen. I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to truly get to know their parents and develop a strong and loving bond with them. I am very close with both of my parents and could never imagine feeling the way that this person feels. The retor can fix this situation by developing a better relationship with his or her parents thus he or she will no longer feel the need to get closer to them before "it's too late."
