For my final journal entry I scrolled through so many writings and pictures and could not decide which one I wanted to do until I saw this one. I manly picked it because what stood out to me right away which was that the letter was written for Jake and my name is Jake. The rhetor seems to be a Grandma who was writing for the audience of her grandson Jake. She seems to think that only he will be the one to read it because it is written specifically for him. This is a funny letter because it is about his grandma trying to tell him that she bought lightning bugs that you can eat. She seems so excited to tell him about her new find but the exigence of the letter is that she was most likely ripped off by the Lady at the fair that sold them to her. It was interesting to me because it was found in the garbage in Virginia by a family member so it seems like it was thrown away on purpose, possibly by the grandma after she learned she was mistaken trying to hide any evidence of her confusion, or maybe this was a regular occasion and her grandson Jake gets crazy letters from her all the time so he just threw it way because it was nothing special. It is a mystery why this letter was written and why it was thrown away in the end.
