This artifact in particular stuck out to me for many reasons. When I was first scrolling through all of the artifacts I stopped at this one because I noticed a mom kissing a little baby. As I started reading I noticed it was something that I wasn't expecting. The mother looks so loving towards the little child in the picture, but in reality that is obviously not the case. This captured my attention and began d to get my brain to turn. This picture is an example of the phrase "don't judge a book by it's cover." In the picture it seems so loving, but in real life this child and mother had problems. I believe this relates to the world today in the sense that things aren't always as they seem.
I have heard so many stories of parents and children with bad relationships their whole lives Then when their parents get sick, some children just can't let go of the past and forgive their parents for whatever it may be that their mom or dad put them through as a child. Then when the parent dies, the child begins to hate themselves for not granting them forgiveness before they passed. It is the same pattern and the same story. I can relate to this artifact because of experiences I have had with not forgiving maybe when I should have and can't even fathom what people who deal with stories like this must feel. This artifact caught my attention and got me thinking when I read it and that I why I chose it. It is important to "forgive and forget", as they say, because you never know when and where it will be their time.
