Blog 1: Community and Writing

I would define a community as a family, who shares similar beliefs and values. It is a population of people with relationships in an area that can range to be as small as a little town to as big as a large university with 40,000 students. In a community, people care and look out for others and have a strong connection with similar interests and goals. When someone is apart of a community, they are impacted by others thoughts. They listen and try to comprehend ideas shared between them. A way their ideas can be shared is from writing. Writing is a form of communication that has been around for ages that shares thoughts, opinions, ideas, and feelings. Writing is everywhere. It could be in the form as a road sign seen driving to a long, complex letter written to a close relative.  They both differ greatly because a road sign can be a simple word, for example “stop”, or a symbol. The letter, on the other hand, can have slang, acronyms, and be very personal. All types of writing are very different because each form has its own style. Every community has its own special style of writing and that is what makes our world so unique. Writing and a community can impact an individual extremely.
