#ToTheGirls

Reading all the hashtags about "#ToTheGirls" inspired me to talk about girls rights and be open about the situation. Not as much in society today, but as we know girls have been a minority to men since the begging of time. "You should not do that because that is for men", "Let a man handle it", "Men are stronger", "Men are wiser" and so on, we have heard it all. In the older times, women weren't even allowed to have certain jobs and were basically there to raise the kids, cook and clean. This hashtag became so powerful because women are over feeling belittled. Girls were tweeting things like "#tothegirls Never apologize for your accomplishments. You've earned them. Confidence does not equal conceit." The girl who wrote this is telling others, don't feel ashamed, you deserve what you have. She is trying to make other women feel equal and confident. Also this hashtag was making ladies feel confident about their beautiful bodies that they should feel happy and content with no matter the size or shape. #tothegirls you are more than the numbers on the scale. your size does not determine your worth and your weight does not define you, you do." This one tweet really stuck out to me because the girl who wrote this was trying to get across that a number on a scale doesn't define who you are and what you're worth, we're all equal. Many women are very insure about their weight or the way they look and a lot of times people forget how sensitive of a subject this is to women and will say things like "well she fat", "she's really thick", "she's too skinny" and so on; but these girls are trying to explain to others don't let those words affect you, we're all beautiful, every shape and every size. I really liked this hashtag and found it very interesting all the women who participated in this, I learned that through writing, speaking loud and acting out for a good purpose can cause a very positive effect others.
