#reclaimMLK

Racism has been around forever and still exists today. Martin Luther King Jr. died fighting for an end to racism and many followed him. As long as people fight for it to end it will always be there. Events such as the killing of Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown by white police officers have not gone over well with the black community. These  many acts of racism throughout the last year  is why this Martin Luther King Jr. Day was very special. Many african americans want to reclaim what King preached before he passed on equality. This hashtag reclaimMLK can teach us a lot about how people view the situation of racism in our country and many want this to end. The hashtag can also bring back memories of government documents that helped abolish slavery and make racism illegal. These were some of the biggest moments in our nations history and they are being reminisced through this hashtag fro Martin Luther King Jr.
